The challenge
The Kria group — Kria Bebés (nursery, Algés) and Kria Crianças (kindergarten, Linda-a-Velha) — needed a professional way to communicate with families and run the day-to-day, without juggling several generic, disconnected tools.
Approach
We designed a single platform around three roles — admin, educators and guardians — and one simple idea: the educator logs the day, the family follows in real time.
The solution
- A daily diary per child — meals, sleep, hygiene, activities and photos.
- An installable app (PWA) for families, with push notifications.
- Full management — attendance, development records, billing and staff.
- Bilingual pt-PT (default) + EN; privacy and security built for children’s data (GDPR) — integration secrets stored encrypted, never in the environment.
- Paired with two public websites (Kria Bebés and Kria Crianças), sharing one identity.
Stack: SvelteKit (Svelte 5) + PostgreSQL/Drizzle + Better Auth, PWA with Web Push, Stripe payments — self-hosted on Docker.
